Free, just-for-fun interactive geometry simulations: the rolling wheel, the isoperimetric wire, why the area of a circle is πr², and equal chords of a circle.
The Arcade is a free, just-for-fun collection of maths simulations. It is a side project and is not one of the AIM IQ LABS B2B products or services.
The Rolling Wheel: Unroll a wheel along a line and watch one full turn lay down exactly its own circumference. That is where 2πr comes from, before the formula.
Same Wire, Different Shape: Morph a fixed length of wire between a square and a circle. Perimeter stays put, area does not: the isoperimetric result made tactile.
Why is Area = πr²?: Slice a disc into wedges and rearrange them into a near-rectangle. Push the slice count up and the proof converges in front of you.
Equal Chords: Finite or Infinite?: Sweep every chord of a given length around a circle and trace the envelope they carve out: a counting question with a geometric answer.
